Glass Processing Technology
In our glass technology department we develop new products for specialty fiber optic applications, such as products for microstructured and photonic crystal fibers. Furthermore we apply our knowledge about machining, drilling, assembling, and hot forming to other fiber optic applications. Examples include special shape and hole assisted preform designs and capillaries and tubes with special high or low ratio of outer to inner diameter.
Process opportunities and equipment:
- drilling, grinding and milling
- elongation without forming dies
- collapsing
- gas phase etching
- vertical lathes with electrical furnace
- horizontal lathes with H2/O2 torches
- high precision end face measurement system for complex structures
Beside all these necessary processes and equipment, we have in-house, we have employees with expertise in the various fields of quartz glass knowledge to respond to our customers’ unique requirements with specialized solutions.
